31/01/2010 : NSAC go for Gloucester League Victories.

We have the final Glos XC meeting next Saturday (6th Feb) at Cheltenham and I would be grateful if any athletes intending to run could confirm your attendance as soon as possible. As always for the under 11 footballers, please feel free to turn up if your game is cancelled.

We have had a brilliant season so far and our athletes have steadily improved as the season has progressed. This was clearly evident at the Avon Schools XC Championships last weekend where North Somerset Schools had their most successful Championships on record. Our athletes in the main were responsible for this and there were some outstanding individual performances, with our under 13 girls in particular dominating their race with 1st, 2nd & 3rd places. This shows that both regular training and competition pays dividends.

We have dominated the Glos XC league at junior level in our first season and stand to collect several awards for both team and individual. It would be great to show up at the final event with record numbers so please come along and have a run, especially if you have yet to attend any of the previous three meetings you will be more than welcome.

I have attached the On the Day Registration Forms and venue details with race times, directions etc. I will be leaving Gordano Services at 9.45am if anybody wants to follow me. You should allow aprox 50 mins to get there from Gordano.

Athletes will need to register (as NSAC not NSAA) with £2 to collect their numbers (at the Leisure Centre/Swimming Pool on map) at least 30 mins before their respective race.

We will be setting up camp around 10.45ish as we have a big new tent and it may take us a while to work it out! The first race is at 12pm (will have club flag and tent close to race start line) and would suggest that athletes arrive approximately 1 hour before their race, as they should leave time for a good warm-up.

The league rules state that athletes need to be wearing our club competition vests (navy with white hoop), so please make sure that you bring these if you have one. For any of you that dont the club will be bringing spares, but as a precaution if the under 11 & 13 boys could also bring their blue Academy shirts in addition to their club vests (if they have one), then we should have it covered.

Look forward to seeing you all next Saturday!
