25/09/2009 : South West Inter-Counties Results 2009

The South West Counties Championships took place at Exeter on Sunday and as per previous news article NSAC was represented by nine athletes.

There were some fine performances from all our athletes in which four of them medalled:

Anicia Skeates won three medals in total, jumping 4.33m in the long jump to claim bronze. She then claimed silver in the hurdles in 12.33secs and jumped an amazing 1.52m in the high jump to claim gold and move into third best in UK, well done Anicia.

Katie Grinyer was another athlete on form who obtained bronze in the 200m with a time of 29.06 and went one better in the 800m gaining silver in a time of 2.31mins.

Cameron Coetzee claimed gold with a superb run in the 1500m in a time of 4.27mins. Ashley Pierson also medalled with a bronze in both the 100 and 200m. Mention should go to Kody Mortimer who was 4th in both the 800m and the long jump, better luck next time Kody.

Finally our Coach Ben Coghlan was back on form winning Gold in the U20 100m with the fastest time of the day and coming 2nd in the U20 200m in 11.23 and 22.65 repectively both into 1.5m headwinds. Also Chris Millard won bronze in senior 200m & came 4th in 100m. Full results can be seen on linked spreadsheet.

Well done everyone who competed and we look forward to having more representation next year. Both Chris and Steve were present and were pleased with everyones efforts and also look forward to winter training with you all!!
